The costumes from all five films nominated for Best Costume Design will be on view, among costumes from 20 of 2011’s outstanding movies. The exhibition opens Tuesday, February 14 and runs until April 28, at the FIDM Museum & Galleries. “Every year it’s an exciting challenge to secure pieces for our annual film costume exhibition,” commented Michael Black, Art Of Motion Picture Costume Design Curator. “It’s been even more of a thrill this year to select the participants for our historic twentieth anniversary. In keeping with the museum’s tradition of showcasing the previous year’s Oscar® winner for Best Costume Design, visitors will again see pieces from Alice in Wonderland by Costume Designer Colleen Atwood (2011 Academy Award® Winner). For 20 years, the FIDM Museum has honored the incredible work of costume designers in the film industry through this annual exhibition produced in association with the Costume Designers Guild. Since 1993, the Art Of Motion Picture Costume Design has drawn thousands of visitors and media from around the world. The FIDM Museum is proud of our association with all the creative people who produce magic for the film industry and salute their skills, dedication, talents, and triumphs.
