The FIDM Museum is excited to announce that two funded digital summer internships are now open for applications. All applicants should be currently enrolled in a graduate program in fashion history or museum studies; consideration will also be given to students beginning their graduate program in Fall 2021, or those who completed their graduate studies in Spring 2021.
Interns will receive the Lori and Sal Santamaura Summer Study Grant or the Donald and Joan Damask Summer Study Grant. Both interns will assist with online projects pertaining to the Museum’s blog, website, and social media platforms; duties include data entry, metadata tracking, digitization, research, and writing. Experience with WordPress is a plus. Additionally, interns will work on a collections-based research project of their choice and present their findings on the FIDM Museum Blog.
Both study grants are open to U.S. citizens only. Please note that the internships are entirely virtual. Internships take place over an eight week period (35 hours per week; schedule to be arranged with supervisor) and consist of a $1,000 stipend each; $500 will be paid to the student on their first day at the FIDM Museum, and the remaining $500 will be given on the day of their completed internship.
Applications (cover letter and resumé) are due April 15, 2021. Applications will be reviewed upon receipt, and qualifying candidates will be interviewed by phone or video call prior to beginning the program.
