Fundraising Friday: Larson Matching Campaign

We are now over a month into our #4for400 campaign and we have made amazing progress thanks to the participation of our FIDM Museum supporters! But we still need your help to reach our goal. Your organization can have a direct, significant impact on the FIDM Museum’s Helen Larson Historic Fashion Collection fundraising by MATCHING donations made by your members. The FIDM Museum can provide all the necessary graphics and marketing materials to promote your fundraising challenge, and help keep track of donations made by your members via the text-to-donate number and online.

There are several options for hosting a matching campaign:

  • Create a goal amount that your organization will match; for example, match up to $3,000 of all donations made by your members (or more, if the goal is exceeded!)
  • Set a specific date or timeline to match all donations made by your members
  • Collect checks and cash directly from your members over a period of time, then make a single contribution to the Larson Campaign in the name of your organization
  • Choose an object from the Larson Collection to adopt in the name of your organization; members raise half the amount needed, and the organization matches the other half
  • Host an event and match total ticket sales and/or donations made during the event

If you would like more information, or if you are interested in hosting a matching campaign, please contact Museum Associate Joanna Abijaoude at jabijaoude@fidmmuseum.org. By sponsoring a Helen Larson Collection Matching Campaign, your organization can put the FIDM Museum one step closer to meeting our $2.5 million fundraising goal. Time is of the essence; we have only until the end of 2015 to raise the remaining funds, or the Larson Collection could be broken up and lost forever. Your organization has the power to keep this one-of-a-kind cultural treasure at a public institution, where it can be appreciated by museum visitors and students for generations to come.
